Description

The aim of this course is to train and equip professionals that handle cash, as well as the general public, with knowledge and skills to verify the authenticity and fitness of euro banknotes.

The course prepares professionals for cash recirculation activities as determined by Decree-Law No. 195/2007, of May 15. In order to obtain the qualification certificate, a final quiz is mandatory, with a minimum score of 70%.

Access to the final quiz requires registration on the platform.

Programme

The course includes three modules on the euro banknotes:

• Module I. Authenticity check
  • Series and denominations;
  • Main characteristics and security elements;
  • Methodologies to support the verification of authenticity and counterfeit detection.
• Module II. Fitness Checking
  • Concepts;
  • Characteristics and fitness requirements of banknotes in circulation;
  • Fitness of a banknote resulting from automated sorting and manual sorting.
• Module III. Damaged banknotes
  • Rules, criteria and conditions for exchanging damaged banknotes;
  • Intelligent banknote neutralization systems and technologies used;
  • Characteristics of neutralized banknotes.
